When you start to deal with growing grapes the first thing you need to do is to determine how much land suited for grapes you have and and how many vines you can support. It is difficult to grow grapes but just because grapes are soft fruits they arent fragile. As long as you have enough land in a sunny location you can grow grapes and i dosnt have to be in sunny California or in southern europe.
